Al fresco tapas and drinks back on the menu at Cape York Peninsula Lodge
Running hot after re-opening for sit-down dining earlier this month, Cape York Peninsula Lodge is enticing guests and locals with its new tapas menu and outdoor ‘grazing’ area.
Developed by head chef, Craig Drew, diners will be able to choose from a selection of dishes designed to be shared between small (socially-distant) groups.
Highlights of the new menu include spicy cajun-style squid tentacles topped with avocado and crispy noodles, Jamaican prawn skewers with coconut rice and pineapple salsa, and prawn gyoza. Vegetarians haven’t been left behind either – they’ll be able to enjoy herb-crumbed zucchini and cauliflower, and classic Italian bruschetta with tomatoes and balsamic glaze.
“We really believe variety is essential,” says Craig. “We wanted to give people a taste of fantastic dishes from around the world and be able to mix and match them whichever way they like. That’s what’s so good about tapas!”
Diners can now enjoy a drink and nibbles on the deck overlooking the pools and gardens, with the Lodge adding barstool seating that can accommodate 10 guests as per COVID-19 regulations.
The tapas menu is available for guests dining in each Thursday and Friday beginning 23 July. The à la carte menu will continue to be available Wednesday to Friday.
